I do not know anything about entrepreneurship. Does it still make sense to join?
Absolutely! You don’t need any prior experience to be part of The Anvil. Our community is open to anyone interested in supporting student founders and developing skills in areas like marketing, finance, or events. You’ll also have the chance to learn more about startups through conferences, networking events, and other hands-on experiences — making it a great opportunity to explore and grow in the startup world.
What kind of events does The Anvil organize?
We host a variety of events designed to support founders and foster community. This includes funding competitions, guest speaker sessions, networking events and hackathons. Our largest event is BoilerLaunch, a premier student-led startup event held in Chicago that brings together founders, investors, and innovators from across the Midwest.
What exactly will I be doing in the club?
You’ll be part of the team that organizes events connecting students with founders, investors, and top professionals. You’ll lead projects, manage partnerships, work on logistics, operations, marketing, content, and event strategy. This is a real opportunity to gain hands-on project management and leadership experience — while still in college.
Is the selection process difficult?
It’s selective, but not difficult. We’re not looking for people with curiosity, drive, and a willingness to help other entrepreuners. If you bring energy, commitment, and a growth mindset, you’ll be a strong candidate.
Do you have success stories from past members?
Yes! We have former members who went on to launch their own startups, work in venture capital, or build careers in top tech companies. For many of them, the hands-on experience they gained in the club was a career-defining opportunity.
